"Entirely concurring in Your views, I have therefore informed that gentleman of the acknowledgment of his long service which Your Lordship has been pleased to make, and have appointed him provisionally to a seat in the
Legislative Council, pending the receipt of the Warrant.
Mr Alexander will be sworn in at the next meeting of the Legislative Council.
